I wrote just over a week ago about short-shift conversion parts that I received from madvet. I spoke with their technician a week ago (Monday) and we determined that my parts were manufactured incorrectly. I asked that new ones be sent and that they check them before mailing. I was told, no problem, they would be shipped that day. I decided to leave the car on stands to finish the job the next weekend. The parts didn't come by Friday and I called this morning because I need the car back on the road tomorrow.
I just got off the phone with madvet and the parts were not shipped. They were determined to be wrong and blocked on FRIDAY AFTERNOON. So, it took four days to determine the parts were screwed and no one bothered to tell me. Apparently, I was put on a backorder and the salesperson told that it would probably be 2 or 3 weeks. Sounds like their entire batch is junk. They have a notice of "limited stock" at the on-line catalog.
So, a warning on the parts and disappointment with madvet's handling of the situation. Madvet supplies Eckler's, so be sure to check if ordering from Eckler's.
I didn't catch this thread before installing. I just installed a set I had purchasd a few months back. I do believe those came from Ecklers but I'm not sure, will have to check all my invoices on-line.
The only problem I had was I had to use the full length of the shift rods when I adjusted the linkage after installation.
Installation of the short levers is easy if the car is up on stands. The time consuming part of this swap is getting to the shifter to insert a 5/8" guage to hold the center possition while you adjust the linkage (the driver seat and console covers have to come out).
The same will be true if I have to reinstall the original set!!!
I started mine and went through the gears while up on stands. It seems to shift good (better adjustment than before). Will have to see when the tranny is under load (wheels down).

Not necessary. I did it this way first, but the second time did it by feel without messing with the console at all and had better results.
I installed a set, having trouble getting it out of gear once in reverse. It will go into neutral, but can not get it into 1-4? Any advise on what linkage needs to be adjusted?
