Default Maf sensor

Some one posted awhile back that an 88 maf sensor would work in an 85 has anyone done this mod in there 85, thanks Steve

That was probably me that advised a member he could do it. This tip came straight from Gordon Killebrew when I was discussing my problems with my '85. He verified it was the MAF and told me to get the newer one.

Do you think an 89 maf would work I am looking to buy a used one ?Did you put the newer one in your 85 and how did it work?

You can also use a Gen III camaro MAF, works the same, there was also a post a while back that listed parts that could be inter-mingled... Search, advanced, include "archive posts" in the search request...

'87-'88-'89 are all the same I do believe. I just stated '88 because my poor memory couldn't come up with the years GK told me I could use. I've had the newer MAF in my car now over 4 years with no issues whatsoever.
