Davemack: look at the sec pic, that was the only u-joint in driver side was making noise but i chaned all of em what the heck, from outside u cant even tell its broken, but once we took all a part, than we able to see that sucker. so thats i said jack both rear wheels at same time, if u take to a mechanic and ket him put it on lift, than u shake both half shafts and driveshaft, if it has a play u sure found ur problem. At the same time check wheel bearings play too. Good luck for ur problem man, hope u win.
I had only one side making noise, but might as well do both while your under there.
As always, thanks for the excellent advice. Sounds like this is the right time to change the driveshaft joints, since the exhaust is coming off. Depending on what we find, I might just do them all. That'll be one less thing that can go wrong later.
