Default Passive Security System

My passive entry system acted as if the battery were getting weak. i.e., had to shake and press buttons with some gusto before it will work.

Now, nothing. Even with new battery. Cannot program the FOB according to user directions (holding the door key down with key in ignition). Passive light does not come on when car is started, indicating it is turned off.

Is there something else to check? 1994 Coupe.

To activate the system, if I understand you correctly, will not take place with the key IN the ignition.

Remove the key & hold the door button down until the locks cycle.

If you want to select which doors unlock with the system, then put the key in the ignition, donot turn on, for door selection.

Does the fob now open the pass door & hatch?

My PKE works fine except for the option of opening both doors at the same time.

I do exactly what the owners manual says, by putting the key in the ignition and holding the door button down. It cycles the locks, but all it does it disable the PKE. It won't open both doors. What am I doing wrong?

Doesn't sound like your doing anything wrong. Can't find any info in the FSM that relates to that problem.

Do you have another ignition key you can try?

No, I only have one ignition key. Anyone care to chime in?

Default Passive key entry

After giving up on getting the fob to do anything, I happend to walk by the car with the fob in hand THE NEXT DAY and the doors unlocked.

Seems to be working normally now, but we'll see.

Default passive security and rear hatch not working

I was backed into in a parking lot. Not a lot of front end damage but
now the passive security and the rear hatch no longer work.
The manual switch for the rear hatch also does not open it.
All fuses seem fine but I'm at alost why both systems do not
function. Any help would be great.

Only thing I can think of is to make sure you aren't turning the key on, just putting it in.
