At least you get the cheap compressor. I think the 88-96 has the most expensive compressor you can get.

I don't know who made the OEM one, but I'm guessing it is a Harrison?

Whatever you get. I'd say most would recommend to get a NEW compressor that comes with a NEW clutch. Probably AC Delco or Delphi.

You can try the dealer or the local auto parts store. Also Rockauto.com. And you could try looking for it under the eBay seller thepartsladi.

Yeah, if it is just a bad clutch bearing. I'd first just try replacing the bearing. I believe you can get these at Autozone. At least with the 88-96, you have to have someone press the old bearing out, and press the new one in. Though that bearing on 88-96 is around $45.

Some compressor clutches need special tool, Ford, Mitsubishi, Chrysler were easy to replace.

Yeah, some you need a clutch puller. Don't know if the 84-87 need one. On the 88-96 you don't need any special tools.

One thing though, is the clutch supposed to be greased? When I had mine out, there was grease all over the place. I went ahead and cleaned everything up. Then rubbed some spark plug grease on the inside and outside of the coil. As that is where the pulley would be turning.
