Default converting 92 opti connector to 4 pin?

The '92 has different connectors for the Opti-Spark under the right fuel-injector cover.
So, for the '92, you can use the new '95 style Opti harness if you change the connector under the fuel injector cover.

For a '93 and '94, I think you can buy the new '95 style harness and plug it in.

I found this in another thread; does anyone know how
i purchased an msd opti and need the conversion
thanks

I did this on my '92.

First, record the location of each pin in the connector (record wire color and pin letter) OR you can eject one pin at a time and immediately put it in the new connector.

The pins are simply ejected using a pin ejection tool, that can be bought at Pep-boys, and inserted into the new connector.
No wire cutting and splicing is needed.

The pin letters are the same in both connectors.
So:
Old connector --- New connector
Pin A -> Pin A
Pin B -> Pin B
Pin C -> Pin C
etc.

The old connector has more pin locations because it has a ground wire for a shield -- you don't need the ground.
The newer harness does not have a ground or shield.
