Hood latch jammed
Hello,
I am having trouble getting my hood to open. The latch on the left side is jammed. Whenever I pull up on the handle to open the hood the right side opens but not the left side. Is there any way I can manually get the hood to open? Any help would be appreciated.
BTW it is an 85 corvette.

Had same problem...you can do some searches and find more advice, but I made a tool to open mine...I carry it everywhere even though I put a new hood release cable in...cable is about $50.00...click on the following link (or enter it) for the specs on the tool...I just heated up the rod and made the proper bends instead of welding...it worked great, but took some time to line it up to release the latch.
You might have somebody push down on the hood while you pull the lever...if you're lucky it will pop open. Once you get it open make sure the cable is adjusted right and pulls the release mechanism far enough to pop the hood. Also grease the pins and moving parts etc.
