Gears
Now that the super ram is nearly on my car...I am furthering my quest to beat the living well, you know, out of as many BMW's as I can...next on my list is gears.
Where can I find a good set of gears for the Dana 44 on my Corvette...I'm thinking I want 3.93's, I think 4.11's or 4.56's would be too tall considering I don't touch my overdrive. Does anybody know where in the bay area (or Central California Coast) a reliable rear end shop is? Any recommendations as far as shops or ratios go are very much welcomed! Your personal experiences are most valuable!!

3.54 or 3.73 ratios are well suited to the SR. 3.07, 3.33, or 3.45 should work well also.
I've got 3.73s with a 4+3. I think its a good combination but it does encourage 6000 rpm upshifts, due to the slightly wider ratio spread compared with a ZF6.
3.73s will need to slightly over-rev the HP peak at typical 1/4 mile trap speeds (around 5400 rpm @ 108 mph). 3.54s will slightly under-rev (around 5100 rpm @ 108 mph).

Will the car be trapping speeds like that if its basically stock apart from the SR and the gears?
Where do I find a set of gears like that, many of the typical corvette catalogs don't carry rear end gears.

Ratio advice would be easier to offer if we knew what kind of transmission you have. Why are you only gunning for Beemers? You should set your sights higher!

Okay, my un computer savy butt has just figured out how to add information to my profile, so that's done.
My car is a 1985 coupe, but the engine is out of a newer vette, and we don't really know much about it, except that it is a TPI, and it has the aluminum centerbolt heads. It also has a high volume oil pump, which regularly maxes out the gauge. (Why this is in there I don't know). We are just now finishing the intake, which is an Accel Super Ram, complete with base and uppers. Injectors are 26 lb/hr Accel pieces...In my own defense, I had these laying around when the other injectors went bad, so they got thrown in. Spark comes from an Accel Super Coil. All else is stock as far as I know. If any of you know Jim Neylan, he owned the car when it was getting modded...it was black when he owned it, it is now blue. The car has a Doug Nash 4+3, but I've never used the overdrive, and I couldn't imagine using it in the quarter.
Now as far as the Bimmers go, I really, really don't like them. They ride like my Corvette, but drive like my Ford Taurus, and cost twice as much as either. I've only met two people who drive Bimmers and are actually nice. Most others fall into two categories, the 'Big Manly Women' who are barely able to afford the cars, are typically houswives or unmarried ******, and carrying the car's value in credit card debt alone. The other class of Bimmer owners that are out there are the young guys, 17-30, who think everything cool in the world begins and ends with them. They know everything about everything, and their car is the coolest and fastest. Period.
I just wanna set my car up to shut them up, and when I say shut them up, I'm looking for half a second or more...
P.S. If I could run after Italian cars, I would, but they're just way to fast.

It is the Dana 44.
As far as the injectors go, it is overkill, but I had them laying around, and putting them on the car won't hurt anything. The ECM doesn't know the size of injectors, it just knows if the car runs too lean or too rich, and adjusts the cycle time based on that, so performance isn't hurt, and that leaves me room later on...
Finally, I will be having the car dyno tuned as soon as the intake is done...ironically, by a shop that does most of its work on Bimmers...

With 3.07s and an MH5 (0.62 OD) 4+3 you can get a pretty good idea what to expect in high gear with a couple of popular ratios.
3rd gear direct = 4.11.
2nd gear od = 3.54.
4th gear direct = 3.07 of course.
2nd gear od pulls from about 80 - 125 mph. will give you a good idea what to expect from 3.54 gears.
