Early C4 rear bumper sag

My '86 has a sag in the lower rear bumper which isn't too bad but it's something I'd like to fix. I'm curious as to how people have fixed this.

Didn't GM make a brace specifically for this issue?

Yes, GM made a brace. There was a thread on this subject and it had a lot of good info. Maybe an archive search will bring it up.

I remember the thread. I believe it was in the C4 General section, IIRC. A member used a plate/brace under the rear bottom of the bumper. Seems like it helped, but not completely fixed.
