ok all i have posted a couple posts concerning my vette was ideling high.
i replaced the TPS sensor and checked the volts.
today i found out what i think it is
my gas pedal is actually sticking
i can feel it click when i depress the pedal and if i put my foot under the pedal and lift it up i can feel the pedal click and then my idle goes back to normal
every time my idle gets high i have todo this to get it out of place
I had a similar problem...throttle body plates were dirty and sticking open. I cleaned it out real good and things were much better. The petal was also much smoother and easier to push.

More than likely the throttle body.
It won't get better. I've dicked with mine over and over and over and over and over again and had bearings installed in it, then dicked with it and adjusted itover and over and over and over and over again and it still sticks. I loosened it up so it wouldn't hang at high idle, now it's sticky coming off idle, so you can't ease into the throttle.
I think next time I will adjust it towards to the bottom of my trash can.

Today my gas petal got stuck on my 05-c6 while switching lanes from behind a school bus. I lost control, spun out and went down an embankment. Damaged right rear quarter panel and door. Anybody else had this problem
This one has me scratching my head to, I have replaced the throttle body, IAC, adjusted the TPS, disconnected the throttle cable to checked for any sticky spots (there are none, and it only sticks when the engine is running) and added a spring which helps but it will still catch when driving and I have to blip the throttle so it snaps back to idle.
So good luck and I will let you know if I find a solution
Try disconnecting the cruise control cable at the throttle body and see how that affects things. Mine was hanging up somehow (years ago -- don't remember).
I just went through this on a road trip. Everyday I tried cleaning the TB to make the idle slow down and it would help for about 200 miles and then would start to go back up. Added spring to help pull back linkage, same thing. Finally sprayed WD40 into the shaft bearings with the little tube, worked the linkage a few times, wiped out the excess before starting and never had another problem for the rest of the trip.
Hello out there, I am Christopher. I am new here, so if this has already been address, please forgive me.
The pedal on my 87 C4 sticks, but the opposite way. It seems hard to push sometimes. There is a monitored 25 MPH zone not too far from my house. It is hard to maintain 25 when the pedal is hard to push. When I do push it, and it sticks, it thrusts forward like I stomped the gas pedal. I try to avoid this zone because of it, but it is hard to do because there is no way around it. I try to take it out of gear and coast through the zone, but it is too long.
Any thoughts of why it would be sticking? Is there something I can do, myself, to "unstick" it?
Thanks for the information. I have had a busy week and I have been unable to check the Vette yet. I have been driving my Jeep (boo hiss lol) - The link posted was broken. I will have a chance on Saturday to look at the Vette :-)

hi did disconnecting cruise cable work? I'm having same prob and I put in a new clutch so it's really tough to go slow lol
Can be indicative of worn bearings on the butterfly valve shaft. When the engine is running, there is vacuum in the intake manifold that is working to “suck” the closed butterfly valves (throttle blades) against the bores. With slop in the bearings the blades are out of alignment with the bores and hence stick when you hit the gas pedal until they break free.
I didn’t catch what year C4 this is, but if you have ASR also consider the throttle cable adjustment process outlined in the FSM.
I noticed my throttle linkage today can move up and down and I looked in at the butterflys and they do hit the walls. I bet that's my prob. Saving for holley or bbk not sure....

anybody ever have this before
This happened to me a couple of days ago while coming to a complete stop I noticed the rpm was high. I kept driving and it didn't want to drop down till you lift the pedal.
Have you found a solution yet? I would think it's the spring or the whole gas pedal assembly that might need replacement.
