Ok. How do you tell if all these items are in good condition. Lets say they are NOT making noise but just to see what they look like rusted or anything like that. Do I need to take off my rim/wheel? Go thru the back of the car where the driveshaft is? Thanks. Ok. I just wanted to know about the brakelines. If its going to cost more than its worth...the SS ones from midamerica are 110.00. Expensive!!! Daddy told me today that they are just a "gimmick" trying to get your money.
I gave some tips for checking the lines. The SS lines give a harder pedal, there is less swell in the line. The trade off is, grit can get in the braid and wear down the teflon line causing a leak. A harder pedal means quicker/better/more precise brake modulation on the track for me, and quicker response.
It would be best to start a new topic on checking parts, I bet it would be a good informative topic. If they are not making noise that is a good sign. Rust is pretty normal. My younger brother just tossed out some plugs that were rusty and then couldn't find the same heat range. I talked to him about rust not being a problem on the body of the plug and that he needed to find the same heat range. D'oh.
thanks Wolf and Repzard. I have already looked at scorps u joint tutorial. Seems very good information on replacing them. You say rust is normal. I dont like rusty parts period. Thanks again though. Ill go post a thread on actually checking them.
