Hi, im trying to fix my trans on my 1986 corvette. I know for sure the linkage is messed up. The car is stuck in reverse but i can change the gears from under the car. Is there any diagrams or guides that could help me. I have haynes repair mauaul but it doesnt help me that much. I need pictures. There is also a red wire hanging by the trans thats been cut, does anyone know wat it could be? Where is the trans fuse located? I cant find it in the fuse box. Thank you.

I don't recall any red wires under there off the top of my head.
This should help though.
It can be adjusted perfectly from under the car without tearing the center console apart if you can visualize how it works. You'll need a helper in the car moving the shifter back and forth while you adjust. Each gate has a neutral slot in it, these must be all lined up. The shifter body also has some non-moving neutral slots they have to line up with.
Just to clear the air, you realize that the key has to be on to unlock shifter and that there is a reverse lockout slider right below the ****. You have to pull the slider up to get out of reverse.
