He is probably talking about heat tape that you can buy from Summit, Jegs, etc. and wrap the wires/harness to protect it.
Wrapping the headers will void any warranty. Do a search on Google why you should not use header wrap. You will be suprised.

Thanks for not kicking me off the forum, I feel much better today.

Took another look at the area in question. I can think of 2 options. Remove the entire exhaust system and reroute the harness (it's all welded together), or somehow wrap the headers and harness with tape with the very limited space there.

Also, the connector there for the cooling fan switch is melted. Any ideas on where to find another one?

P.S. I'm not mad at the dealership. Yes they charge alot but I would have never ever found that problem on my own. It was way to hard for me see.

As requested, here are a couple of photos of the effected area. Part of the harness can be seen lower right of the coolant switch. Notice the melted plastic on the header pipe.

Man, you need to call Jet-Hot and coat those headers! I had almost forgotten how those naked headers looked and seeing the raw metal reminded me of how scorching hot they got! Some of the best money I have spent on my car!

Dont forget, even GM used heat shields over their shorty exhaust manifolds. That kept the heat away from the wires somewhat.

With larger tube uncoated headers, damn theyre going to cook everything in that cramped bay.I agree with others,go get them coated.Theyre going to keep rusting too if you dont and look real fugly.
