As you can see from the sig the motor has had it. It's going to take much longer than I expected before I can get it in to get it rebuilt. (money) At this point it's unknown. At least till after the first of the year, when the tax refund gets here to help out. My question is, is there anything I should do?. It has close to a full tank of gas. I start it just enough to keep the battery from going dead. I don't want to disconnect it as it sits outside of my apartment, under a car cover, and I want the alarm to work. I drove it around the complex, basicly at idle (man I can't stand the sound this poor motor is making) to take some rust off the rotors and help keep the tires from flat spotting. Any other suggestions???????? Opinions????
Honestly, the best thing is to rent a storage unit and put it on jack stands. Sounds like you are already doing really all you can. When the weather starts to ice, make sure that tank is full.

I know that would probably be best, but at close to $200 a month that's subtracting from the motor rebuilding budget to fast. I'd rather keep doing this unless it's doing more damage than it's worth.
I guess what I left out of the original question was whether or not to add a fuel stabilzer or something, or just have the tank drained when I have the motor done?
I agree with Vette92. If you live in that bad a section of town that you're willing to drive around on a broken engine just to keep the battery alive for the alarm, then storage really is the only other option. When You put it away put the battery on a trickle charger. As long as you have a full tank of gas that should be ok if the car will be out by Spring.

It's not that it's such a bad part of town. It just helps to keep the kids away from it! I've got enough scratches from bikes and scooters on the Malibu. I don't need them on the Vette too!
