Default Headlight Motor

I have had an ongoing problem with my left hand headlight. Strips the gear on closing. The shop manual says that a switch on the headlight door turns off the motor. I don't think there is any kind of a switch in the headlight door. Are these switches part of the headight door relay?
What makes the GD thing turn off?

Might have a better chance if you filled out your profile, or at least gave the year of your car.

Inside the door motor and on each end of the motor, there are contacts that look like relay contacts and one opens while the other closes when the door hits the end stop and motor torque is high. The contacts that open turn off the motor and the other contact that makes connection sets up the motor connection for reversal when the headlight switch is changed.

Then I probably have a bad (dirty) contact in the motor or the shaft is worn and stripping the gear. Im going to change the motor tomorow.
Thanks.
