i have a slight ticking in my c4, and cant tell where its coming from. it just started about a week ago, and seems to be getting worse/louder.. does any one have any problems such as mine? if so what should i do to help it.. thanks
sounds like one of the nuts on your rockers has lost it's ability to maintain it's locking feature, and is backing off, loosening your valve adjustment on one valve.
also, look for a bad lifter, bad pushrod, or an accessory on the front of the engine with a bad bearing.
Use a long, long, long screwdriver, and put the blade on various items, and put your ear to the butt end of the screwdriver, and listen for where the ticking might be the loudest, and pursue the noise in that area

....or you can buy a mechanics stethoscope for 3 or 4 bucks at Pep Boys or Harbor Freight Tools....
Pinpointing the "tick" is deifinatley first order of business. Unforunately, this can be very difficult sometimes due to all the dang engine noises going on at once....Could even be a fuel injector pintle clanking.....

Or it could be something as simple as a leaking exhaust manafold (loose bolt). You may want to check that all are tight. My 93 has done this before and it's just as you described.
