I have a 1988 when the motor is hot and turned off It will not restart for about five minutes. Does anyone out there know why??

Need some more info please.
If it just cranks it might be flooded, apply gas to floor while starting this will shut the fuel flow off temporarily.
If it does not turn over, maybe heat soak to the starter.
