This is perfect for a street driven stroker if you ask me. I'm pumped for it. Please tell me it is one piece though!

Do we need to use special fuel rails and stuff?

I agree, the roughly 14" - 15" SR/LS runner length has shown itself perfect for street 350's - 400's (with around 5.5K - 6K RPM redline), can't wait, want it now (CARB certified of course)...!!!

Thanks Bryan...

The interesting is the design/flow on the 1-2 inches that is close to the head.
Lets hope that the big HEI fits.

Any real time plan on this,6-12 months ?

It's not 1 piece.

It assembles as follows

Lower intake to block

Stock fuel rails, EGR, etc.. to lower.

Tubes push fit into lower (seal with O-rings)

Base plate for upper sits on risers that sit on the fuel rail mounting bolts. Longer fuel rail bolts are used. Tubes O-ring push into base plate.

Upper manifold sits on base plate.

After looking at the dyno results, i'm impressed with the increased power at the high end, but seeing as how I almost never go over 3500 rpms this intake probably wont suit my needs as i'd be losing power

We are making modifications to the proto right now to see if there is more low end and mid range to be had.

Remember, the dyno graphs are from one test, on one car.

This intake wasn't designed to shine on a bone stock 88 IROC with
x50,000 miles.

It was made for cars with bolt ons.

Bryan, can you confirm earlier remarks made by others not affiliated
with BBK that this intake will fit under the stock hood height of an
'84-'96 Corvette?

4Ever21. If you seldom operate above 3,500 RPM, what are your
expectations as a result of changing from the OEM intake on your '85?

88BlackZ-51 & johnwayne. Where is the incentive for BBK to reinvent
the LT1/LT4/TPIS Miniram intake? It has been done and done well
by the original mfr's. The MR is readily available. For the non-LTx
crowd, there is the option of converting an OEM or Edelbrock version of
the LT1/LT4.

Where there is an open niche in the C4 intake market now is for the
segment BBK appears to be aiming for. With the Super Ram out of the
picture for an undetermined hiatus and the StealthRam failing to fit
under a stock hood, this leaves a broad group of owners who could
benefit from a new entrant in the market.

Good luck to BBK. I'll be interested in following their progress.

The original set-up and layout was done on a Vette.

It fits under the stock hood of a Vette.

A dual plenum (isolating the 180 degree cylinders) would be cool if you could pull it off.

This would improve the effect as a helmholz resonator which should improve low end.

Maybe stack the plenums vertically.

This could be done by using 2 base plates (1 with 8 holes like it is now and 1 with 4 holes for the 1,4,6,7 cylinders or 2,3,5,8). Make 4 of the runners 1-2" longer to reach into the upper base plate. Then direct the throttle bores into the upper and lower plenums and wrap up the works with the upper. Of course its not as simple as it sounds.

I'm hoping all works out positively, I like the idea of this manifold being my winter time project this year.

CARB certified...I assume uses EGR, too. If its user freindly and has a noticeable power/$$ increase they will sell a ton of them.
SR can be a PITA to work with and most LTR setups dont net but what, 12-15hp/$1000?
We could use soemthing new here.

If you never go over 3500 rpms then you're not even using your stock power. Push the pedal harder.

Oh I do, I put the pedal to the floor. In first gear it will easily hit almost 4500 rpms before shifting. Will the lower end of an L98 even be able to withstand 6000 rpm?

I had mine up at 7500 once. (overrev on downshift )

But it will do 5500 fine. I do that everytime I do a burnout. But for power, there's no need to go past 4500. Valve float is usually the first thing to happen when you overrev.

Its just that I love being able to take off super quick from a stop and i'd hate to lose that. I'm not saying i'm completely going to forget about this intake though because its still just a prototype.

Bryan you should start a new thread when you get some pics, and if I was you, I would ups a few of the intake's to guys who have offered to install it on there modded motors to see what power it makes. You have nothing to loose. The guys cant wait to see the pics.

All in due time.

I wish I could post the pics, but the boss is the boss and he said "not yet" and for good reason.
