Default Master Cylinder

My master cylinder is leaking on my 88! It appears to be leaking out the booster vent ? Anyone ever had the seal at the back of the cylinder go out? AM hoping it is a cylinder only problem and not something with the booster. Thanks Kevin

They almost always leak out the back. Get a new master and bench bleed it. put it on and then bleed, flush out your brakes. you should be fine. If your booster was leaking you would have a vacuum leak.

There is a change it might have. I replaced my master cylinder last year because fluid was leaking into the booster. A few months later my booster went south. When I removed the booster from the car some fluid came out.

Default Follow up! Brakes are GOOD

After much research I did several things
1) bought helms manual
2) bought speed bleeders
3) used the partsladi on ebay

Followed the manual on the bleed procedure afteer bench bleeding!
No problems less than 2 hours start to finish! Now I can get down to enjoying the car I hope! Is new to me and I have driven it 2 times
Thanks for the input! What a great forum!
