My front bumper is starting to show its age with rock chips and now the clear coat is starting to peel in some areas. The rest of the car though is in perfect condition. I'm thinking of taking the bumper into a shop and having them paint it.
How hard is it to remove the bumper? Is it worth saving the $$ and removing it myself, or should I have a shop do it?

I had to replace mine to do off road excursion...did it myself My advice...get a good corvette knowledgable shop and let them do it
I ffound out later that they could do it cheaper than I thought

Also, they may be able to paint it on the car.
But to take it off, there is bolts and screws on all 4 sides of it... and a lot of them . I have done it myself, and it isn't as hard as taking the back one off. But go ahead and expect to take 3-5 hours. Including beer breaks. Also, I had the hood off when I did mine, it made it a lot easier to reach the strip of screws going along the top
The screws along the front edge are a PIA a helper to open the hood all the way gives you a tad more room and in which makes it a tad easier. I would remove and take to a shop to paint, you can also remove the belt line so they wont have to tape anything (never like tape lines). Be careful putting it on when you have to pick the front up over the bar in front of hood, requires a good bend to the urethane cover. Any paint shop that does urethane bumpers should be able to handle it.
I'm going to talk to a couple shops and see if it can be painted on the car. If not, seems like it's pretty straight forward to remove it ... maybe just a little time consuming. Thanks for the advice.
