Just got back from Bloomington Gold and had one problem. My doors dont automaticlly lock and unlock like they should. I hear the driver door mechanismm just buzzing and the passenger door clicks. Although the back glass hatch does pop open. Any thoughts as to what the problem might be?

A little more information would be helpful but in consideration of what you said, the PKE receiver could be bad. The door lock motors are controlled by the PKE and each door and the hatch has its own dedicated relay driven by the circuitry in the box. If the hatch works normal that means the PKE is basically still alive but might be having a problem with the door circuitry.

Would like to know if you can control the door locks with the electronic open/lock slide switch on the door. This function is also related to the PKE. If a relay is held closed it could be sending a continuous signal to the door when it should be a quick momentary signal. If you can’t control the locks, that could indicate the PKE.

If you pull the 2 fuses for the PKE, it should stop the buzzing if it is related to the PKE. Need to pull PKE fuse and radio fuse. I would think a wiring problem in the car would cause the locks not operate but not cause the buzzing.

If it feels like the slide switch has a mind of its own, that could also indicate the PKE is defective. When does it buzz? Car on or off, does it matter? If you remove the top pad and get into it and un-plugged the PKE, you will loose the electronic slide switch on the door as well as stopping the buzzing possibly.

Default Entry Problem

Thanks for the response. Yes, the door locks can be controlled manually inside on the door. That is how I locked both doors when exiting the car. But to open, I had to also manually unlock the drivers door with the key and then hit the slide switch to unlock the passenger door.
The car was always off when I tried to unlock with the receiver. The slide switch never really had a mind of its own.
Thanks
