Default high idle

Everytime now that I come to a stop my car is idling at around 1300 - 1500 RPM. Sometime when I really get on it and come to a stop its around 2000 or 3000 RPM. But if I blip the throttle the car returns to her normal idle speed. What's the deal here?

It may be time to clean the TB & IAC. Mine had the same symptoms and that cured it.

Very often when blipping the throttle brings the idle back down, the problem is with worn throttle shaft bores in the TB casting. Not only can they prevent the butterfly from closing all the way, air can leak past the throttle shaft and the shaft bore.

RACE ON!!!

I have a similar problem. After shut off, I listened and it sounds like a vacum leak near the brake booster. Not sure if thats what it is or not. This is a annoyance though. Have to hold the brake pedal with both feet to stay still.

I have that sound as well, and my idle runs about 11-1200 at times. What should I be checking for?

Yes, it definitely sounds like you have a leak in your brake booster vacuum line. If the brake pedal feels hard thats how you know its not working.

Check for throttle cable adjustment, IAC adjustment, stuck TB valves, and clean your MAF sensor. All of these can cause idle issues.
