Smog pump as a vaccum pump?

Can a factory smog pump off an L98 be used as a vaccum pump for crank case evac?

why would u need a vac pump,just a question. and i wonder if u run it in reverse is it a supercharger!

I'm running low tension rings and need a vac pump to help with ring seal. Aftermarket vac pumps tend to be quite expensive.. Also with the cam I'm running I don't have enough vaccum for the brake booster AND pcv at the same time and I don't wanna havta choose..

Anyone have any experience with one of these? http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...id=11&pcid=317 to me it looks like a smog pump with a catch can with very little technical info to back it up...
