They don't get "louder" so much as the sound changes... becomes a bit more throaty.

I've had mine on my '89 since last summer, and I love 'em.

I have magnaflows on my 96. The sound is deep and thunderous when you stand on the throttle. I love blasting throught the Holland tunnel in NYC with them. It gives me goose bumps when I'm accelerating WOT. I had another vette come up from behind me with magnaflows and I can tell you that it is an intimidating experience.

Actually, watching ANY vette coming up behind you in the rear view mirror is an intimidating experience. I'd swear they were designed that way.
