Default opti?

once I remove the opti can I use a pressure washer or hose to clean the front of the engine, or is it still to risky?

I would try to stay away from shafts, seals and anything that looks like an opening. Since the opti is removed, its not at risk of getting water into it.

Just use some common sence.

Some Simple Green, a little patience and some shop towels go a long way...

I think most of us know this including me. But I did not read the profile. I assumed if it says you have an opti, the person writing it knows what’s under the hood.

Must be my mistake.

Sounds good in theory, but we dont know what he has under the bonnet, he may have put in an LT1 or LT4, or he may not be refering to the 87... But if he is, at least he is being cautious!!

You can wash an LT1 anyway, i do it all the time and im yet to have an issue. Do it with the engine running, and be sensible about where youre hosing.
