Default my car does not run right

I have a 1993 Corvette with 70,000mi vin #P/5. It was not running right; it kept misfiring, so I did a tune up. I replaced the spark plugs (Bosch platinum 4), the wires, the distributor, and the rotor. When I was done I started the car and it idled normal more or less with out the AC. When the AC would be on the engine would come on the verge of dying but then it would go back to idle and the cycle would repeat. The thing that I don’t understand is why the rpm's did not increase as I increased the throttle. It would idle at about 6 or 7 hundred rpm’s and as the throttle opened the most it went up to was about 1000 to 2000 rpm’s and I opened the throttle almost all the way. I don’t know if I have a compression problem, or a timing problem, or an electrical problem (sparkplug/wires etc.). Does anyone know what is wrong with my car? Please help me.

what codes is your car showing. With the information you provided I would guess the problem is electical, not a compression problem. I hate to blame the optispark, but misfiring is a common symptom of a dying optispark, but there are many possiblities.

Run your codes, they will lead you to the problem.
