You are absolutely correct. I was only showing how they "tapped" into the upper radiator hose and WP outlet hose to get collant flow through the throttle body. I just didn't show the second hose the heater core......Mybad...
Here's a modified pic with all the connections:
My understanding; I am NOT required to connect the two hoses together and the coolant will flow as intended without the bypass.
I know this topic has been beat to death, however I want to make sure I am doing this correct. Living in Arizona outside temp today is 108* with pavement at 150*-160*, and it is a daily driver. Also does anyone know the direction of the coolant flowthrough the TB, is it from the driver side to the passenger side or vise versa? The attached diagram I retrieved from a searched post, according to the diagram I would eliminate a factory bypass without altering the flow if coolant if the posts read are correct.

I have a 1989. Here's the way I did it. Pull off the hose between the firewall connector and the passenger side of the throttle body after draining 3 quarts of coolant. Remove the short hose between the throttle body and front of the engine. Take a new piece of 5/8" hose about 50" long and run it from the firewall connector to the front of the engine. Route the new hose under the compressor lines. Use a big tie wrap or two to support the new hose and new clamps. That's it.
