Hello,

Has anyone had any experience with after market MAF units. I know that Murrays discout auto has a Cordon Brand unit for $151.99 after core.
Any info is welcomed.

I wouldnt touch any of them. I'd rather pay more for the OE part that will last a long time than any off-brand.

Yea, but you get what you pay for, when it comes to these type of parts, some you can get away with the cheaper versions, these i wouldn't

An original Bosch MAF will set you back $749. Can someone 'splain that to me?

I have a completely gutted MAF from an 88 for sale in the parts section for $20. FWIW.

Good for a hi perf application where you don't care about the ecm codes.

I bought mine from Murrays 150.00. They said it was an off brand and when they gave it to me it was in a bosch box with a bosch stamp worked great no problems. But if Matt has one for sale you should just buy his.

I bought a Granatelli adjustable MAF. It just would not run well.
Out of the box, throttle response was terrible and it would not idle. I tried to adjust it, but it just would not respond. Also, it kept setting codes. I called the factory and they were not much help. I ended up returning it to the store I bought it from.

If you didn't dick with yours where you busted it you don't need one.

Hello,
I also just picked up my Cordon MAF unit from the Murrays Discount Auto dealer here in town. When I open the box it was a refurbed Bosch unit. I will install it today and report on the service of it.

On the surface it appears to beat the 700 plus dollars being asked for by the dealer and the $300 plus out of the Midamerica catalog. I paid $150.00 after core.

Many 'F' body cars (Camaros, Firedbirds, Trans Ams) have the same MAF.

I bought my replacement at a wrecking yard off a wrecked 'F' body many years ago and it's till going strong. $50

Any MAF Sensor from any TPI car will work, they all have the same part number. It can be from a 305 or 350, Camaro or Firebird, makes no nevermind.

I have an 85 vette and was told an 85 to 89 would work. I bought an 87 for 30$ and it worked just fine.I would do what the other poster said and buy a junk yard one.

Pretty sure I bought a Cardone when I replaced mine. MF4712 is the part #. Still working since March of '02.
