I know there was one of the threads that polled owner's preferences for spark plugs, and I responded with the Delco copper plug I was using. Other owners were using the sAme plug then. That thread was over 4 years old and is not in the archives.
Does anyone know the regular Delco copper plug that is equivalent to the NGK TR55? I think what I'm looking for is R44TS or R44TLS.
I have given up and ordered NGK TR55 to get me through an emissions inspection right now. I currently am using NGK TR6 but they foul in Washington Beltway traffic, so I have to switch. I would like to know the AC Delco plug part number because I got good service with them in the past.
Between fighting with Autozone and driving to Advance Auto stores that have closed this thing is beginning to be a major frustration.
It really doesn't matter, plugs are plugs. As long as you aren't going to put them in and try to leave them in for 50K miles or more buy whatever is on sale. I love all the stock cars that just have to have high dollar wires and the most $$ plugs they can find. Add to that a $50.00 air filter and you still have 300chp.
Interesting this should come up... I had a plug and wire changing party at my house a few changing party at my house with 02 Vette (friends) 02 Yukon and a 94 Vette.
"Plugs are plugs", I used to think so, but no longer. I put Bosch +2 plugs in my 94 LT1, 02 Yukon and the 02 vette... They caused monster misfires in the Yukon and C5. The Yukon could not be driven #6 was dead! Misfire in #8 on the C5 and a bad stumble in the C4... I went back to AC Delco Iridium (Factory Spec) in the Yukon and C5 and NGK in the Vette and the misfires are totally cured! BTW the plugs I pulled out of my Yukon were labeled AC Delco on one side and NGK on the other!!!

I'm looking for the base copper plugs - Not platinum - Not Iridium - Not unobtainium. That's why they are not in stock and are so hard to find.
I run the basic "el cheapo" plugs in mine and have had no problems in 4 years...I use Autolite's that cost like $9 for all 8 plugs...I gap mine tight ot .030 since I drag race it over 90% of the time...I change them about every 2.5 years and they always look like new...
