Malfunctioning door locks.
I've got an '86 that I've been upgradeing the sound system. After putting the door panels back on and testing the power door locks, I noticed that they are not working right. The driver side will lock but not unlock. The passenger side does nothing. The passenger side switch has never worked but the lock motor did. I've tried troubleshooting the sytem, but it is a complicated setup because the switch actually reverses polarity to make the motor work in the opposite direction. All connections seem tight, and no broken wires are visible. Any ideas? :sad:

I found out what the problem was. The stereo installer that put my door panel back together did not reconnect the switch on the right door. The system relies on both switches to be connected, otherwise neither one will work. The left side provides the power, and the right provides the ground. :rolleyes:
