I have an 89 vette with an L98 motor. everytime I floor the pedal, usually in first gear, the car will seem to stall, or lose all power until i let off the gas and then it is fine. it also has seemed to not have as much power as it first did when i got it. Im pretty sure it is the injectors....Can i replace the stock injectors with ones from a 97 vette? i know they will fit, but im not sure if the higher flow rate will hurt the car. is this possible or do i have to use the same size injector?
There have been many posts about injectors, brands, new, reman but one thing is always talked about is getting the set that is a correct flow rate for your needs. A higher flow rate means running rich. I think you want 22 lbs injectors for yours if it's stock.
You really need to use the same size or one very close to it. 89's have Multec injectors which are prone to failure.
However, i would go through and check out the ignition components and TPS first, assuming there are no codes. Then check the fuel pressure, with the car on and then turn the engine off and watch what it does. Don't just assume its the injectors.
