Default Z51 shocks on base car

What will Z51 Convertible Bilsteins do to the ride on my base Vert?

Anyone tried this?

The car would be bumpier but handle better. From what I remember the Z51's come with poly mounts, putting rubber in would make them a little softer if they turned out to be to much.

Don't know about verts but I put Z51 Bilstein sport shocks on my 95 w/Fe1 soft ride susp. and it handles MUCH better.

It'll ride a little bumpier.

I noticed that Bilstein recommends B46-2055 front and B46-2056 rear for convertible and Z51.

I put the Z51 shocks on my base 94 coupe. It improved the handling a lot, but wasn't too harsh. I say go for it.

After tracking the car, it was still way too soft, so I did Z51 springs and sway bar, too. Now THAT really made a difference. I couldn't be happier.

I recently did this to my coupe and really like the results so far, although I've only been back & forth to work since the swap.

It's quite firm but not harsh - any jarring bumps are the ones that were annoying previously. I like the added road feel so "bumpy" isn't a word I would use.

Not sure about track or twisty behavior, although it's got to be better than the (probably) worn out base shocks I took off.

Mine (purchased earlier this year) came with rubber mounts.

I did this with my '95 FE1 car, and really like the difference. It's a lot sharper now.

I put the Z51 bilsteins on my FE1 vert and it made a huge difference. I had someone drive my car the other day who works on a lot of C4's and he said it was the best driving (ride wise) C4 he had driven.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I will try the Z51s.

What exactly is different from base to Z51? Anything other than springs and swaybar and shocks?
