Just wanted to get some insight about a problem I'll be looking at this weekend. The front end has just started to make a thunk sound. Only happens over abrupt changes in pavement height (higher to lower), big bumps, or occaisionally on quick throttle application while cruising.
I have already checked the stuff I can see without getting under it: LCA bolts, UCA bolts, ball joints, shocks, spring retainers, tie rods, anti-roll bars.
Once I can find the time to put it on stands, I'll take a look at motor mounts, drivetrain components, and other suspension components.
Any thoughts about other stuff I should check or what might be a likely culprit?
