Ignition timing for tuning
All things remaining the same (including timing advance curve) would advancing or retarding the base timing change/improve acceleration from a stop? In other words, would advancing the timing make acceleration a bit more responsive?
Thanks for any and all input.

with byebye, but your profile says to many mods to list. If that's the case you might consider sending your data (all mods) to a tuner (unless you've already had a custom chip). They should be able to zero in on the best timing for your application. My 87 is stock, and the base timing for it was 6*, but I've advanced it to 8* which does give it a little more snap on acceleration.
The advancement of the timing may give you more acceleration from a dead stop. However, as soon as the engine becomes loaded, the advanced timing may create ignition knocks. Ignition knocks causes the ECM to retard the timing. Gains???? You may want to advance the TPS to about .6 volts at idle and see what this does for the off line acceleration. The TPS advancement like the timing has a negative impact at the high end and your fuel miles per gallon may be reduced.
