i just got a fidanza corvette single mass flywheel and was wondering if the i should buy an f-body style clutch kit or the y body? i know that the f body ones have sprung hubs so i am gathering that would be more streetable and i thought that all the pressure plates were the same?? anyone?
Most clutch companys make the clutch specifically for the single mass or dual mass depending. Just let your clutch manafacture know what flywheel you have when you order it. FYI My Spec Stage 3 has a sprung hub.
Will
I agree with Andy on the sprung hub with the single mass.
Although I think CentralCoaster Kevin said he is using an unsprung disc with SMFW.
Maybe he'll chime in and describe it's driveability.
Not sure if there is a difference between the F-body and Y-body PP.
BTW, when it comes to friction discs, you are not limited to a stock version. There are aftermarket ones with different characteristics depending on your planned use.

i don't intend on using the stock friction disc. i found that f body sets are a little cheaper than the corvette ones.. if the pressure plates are the same i was thinking of getting a performance f body kit and installing a vette throwout bearing
