When talking of tunes one of the questions asked by tuners is "what rear ratios does the car have?"
It seems that the rear end ratio has some sort of effect on the tuning parameters in the chip....
Does this mean that if a rear end swap is done between two cars with different ratios, that the chips/ecm's should be swapped as well?
Both are the same years and both are A4's.
TIA for sound advice.

I believe the reason it is asked is for timing /fuel changes. Since you have a MAF car it probably won't present an issue like it does in my MAP car, therefor if no other changes have been made (cam etc. ) you probably won't need a re- tune. ANY changes I make effect my tune. To know what is going on for sure datalogging while driving will answer all those questions.
