I have a new Vacuum Check Valve.
Now I have the intake vacuum source capped.
I don't remember which and where these vacuum lines should go..
I remember the A/C, the cruise control..
Could you let me know (looking at the pic below) the 1, 2 and 3 position?

I checked my car yesterday.
I found the vacuum line for cruise control, the one from the SR plenum (obiouvsly..), NOT the A/C line.
The problem is that i can't find the vacuum line coming from the A/C.
It is supposed to be near the distributor.....
During the engine swap made recently ,probably the mechanic, removed this line...

On my 86, that hose is in the wire bundle that is on the firewall. It exits the bundle behind dist.

The harness enters the firewall near pass valve cover.

the line going to the canister is ending itself..
I explaine:
I have the cylindrical canister inoperative and it's also removed in the chip code..
The line coming from this new check valve is coming from a " T" .
the other side of the "T" goes to the cruise control.
the line that has to go to the canister has nothing to be attached.
I can't explain it better in English.. sorry-
and the.... what's the big ball near the canister in the left side of the engine comparement just in front of the left front wheel?

I broke this thing when I was doing a tune up on my '86, thing runs like crap now. Any chance anyone has the part number for this thing? I went and looked though a ton of parts catalogs with the Chevy parts guy and we couldn't find the exact part.

Also any chance, it's a stretch I know, that anyone would have a full vacuum line replacement kit for our cars anywhere?

Kragen has it. The exact same valve as GM sells just in a different box. It's on the isle that has the "Help" brand of misc parts, fittings, etc.

By the way, the GM clerk you spoke to is about worthless.

The check valve from GM is AC Delco# 14056648

the line that runs to the cruise t's off and goes to the vac tank( ball at the front of car) not to the cannister. As for the a/c line, mine fell down behind the engine when it broke and was very difficult to find.

Pardon my ignorance but where does the A/C line terminate on the end away from the check valve. On my 89 the check valve was hanging in mid air so I tried to gain some slack to reconnect the check valve but I managed to snap the small plastic line behind the distributor so I would like to replace it. By the way does A/C stand for air conditioning or accessories because I tried to find the plastic tubing around the compressor but no with luck.

After you hook up the check valve to the intake the 2 ends can be hooked up either way. one to ac(air conditioner controls/vents)
and the other one to a tee or splitter(you may have to buy one)
then one vacume line to the ball in front of the wheel and one to the cruise control. The cruise wont work if the large cruis line is old and rotten like mine was. The ball holds vacume pressure for the car.

Thanks! But could my 89 be slightly different? We are now saying there 4 lines to be attached in conjunction with each other. Where as I've found only 3, I can identify the vacuum from the manifold, and the line from the ball. Now what does the very small plastic line 1/8"OD behind the distributor control and if you know where does that small line go and where should I look for the cruise line.

You may be right about the year difference. But yes 4 lines total. The line from the ball must go to a tee I put mine by the battery you may have one down there somewhere.
Mine was totally fallen apart I had to buy tee, vacume lines, the whole setup to get my cruise working.
Now the line by the distr is for the vents and a/c(air con)that goes to 1 of the open ends on the check valve the other should have a vacume line to the tee then from the tee a line to cruise and a line to ball. Makes sense. 4lines total
Saw this old post I think I meant 3 lines not 4. Anyway if you can find the line again and just slip a vacuume hose over it, then go to the check valve you may be ok. It doesn't need to be hard line as long as it isn't leaking. Just a thought.
