Need help with headlight assembly

Hello, I did the typical repair with the brass gears on my 88 but I can't seem to get the driver's side light to work properly. No matter how I index the headlight before I put it in, it always runs opposite what it should. I turn the lights off and it pops up, turn them on and it closes. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help.

that's wierd.

did you have to disconnect the wiring? if so, you might have put the motor wires in backwards... that's my only thought.

The wires can only go one way when clipped in. I did check that thinking it made perfect sense. Thanks for the reply.

I wonder if your headlight motor relay has gone bad? That's the only thing I can think to add.

Verify the linkage is hooked up properly.

Manually turn the **** on top of the headlight motor counter clock wise. The headlight bucket should open.

Turning the **** clockwise should close the headlight bucket. The **** takes a lot of turning for the headlight bucket to move.
