Default which intake? TPI, LT1, Mini ram

Hi,
I have a S.C. 89, 383 with a SLP, big mouth, ported plenum intake system now.

I make some good street HP# but am considering the next step.

My intake system is droping off at about 4700.

A mini ram costs $1500+
A LT1 Conversion is like $400+

Does anybody have real data for increases for doing a swap from a TPI.

The S.R. is real popular, but I am partial to the cosmetic apearence twards the LT1 and MR.

Thanks for you input

Is the MR that much better than the LT1?
there is like $1000 dif.

I'm not sure how well this applies to FI applications, but here's the best article I've seen on TPI intakes:

Ten Times the Torque

I've got a miniram waiting to go on my procharged application. I figure the boost will more than make up for the loss of low-mid range torque while it will breathe better up top.

P.S. - the miniram and LT1 will perform similarly. The mini has slightly longer runners and an "air gap" for a cooler intake charge, but I bet they dyno the same. Don't underestimate the cost of the LT1 conversion - it will nickel and dime you (custom fuel lines, fittings, small-cap dist, remote coil, remote thermostat, etc.). The mini is a much easier/cleaner install and IMO worth the extra price. You can find them used for about $750 on occasion.
