Did I Screw Up?

Back story- I had been chasing a drivability problem w/ my car for a few months, the cats were rattling, so I replaced the exhaust system w/ true duels. When I got the car back, it ran terrible, worse than before. I did a complete tune up, plugs, coil, module, wires, cap, fuel filter, car still had a miss, and would set a code 32 (erg). I did a compression check, all is good, checked the fuel injectors, one and three were bad. However, this would not fix the code 32 problem, which was caused by a lack of backpressure, per the FSM. A Forum member, Trog offered to burn me a new chip for free, and I took him up on his offer. I installing a new set on fuel injectors (Accel 24 lb) and an AFPR using the Sam Lab method, and it worked pretty well. Because of the problem w/ the EGR, I decided to remove it and install a block off plate. The car started right up, and boy does it run great. Better then ever, by a wide margin.
The Problem
When I shut the car off after the first start up, I hear air escaping from somewhere, and now the car idles too high, at about 900 rpms. Could the EGR block off plate be leaking? I cleaned the TB and used all new gaskets to put everything back together. I replaced all three Plates.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks for your help.
