I have a question. Is the following pic of a d44? I ran across this, and cant seem to figure out what it is. The rear doesnt appear to be the same as pix of d44's i've seen. It also doesnt match the d36 in my car. Curious what you guys think. - Oh, I tried the search function, and no luck...
also - if it is a d44.... Approximately how much would it be worth?

lol - I am pretty sure it is from a late 80's corvette. That is about all I know... The entire assembly resembles the batwing in vettes... Its not from a john deere lol.
Take some more pics on some more angles, cause it does look a little bit like a Viper diff as Twisted said. Its not from a C4 Corvette.
Here is a Corvette DANA 44, and they were pretty much the same from 85-96 with the exception of a couple bolt holes being different sizes:

Reason: fixed a spelling error....
I was going to email you about this thread TopTechx6 but you beat me here mate, i knew youd be the man to verify if it was a Viper part or not, it certainly wont go into a C4
Roger that mate yeah, i saw that bit there, didnt know what springs were used in a Viper. That rear cover also doesnt have the mounting for the toe rods that a C4 requires.
Need to see the front and the bottom and then ill be in better posistion to say what i think it came from.
There is an early and a late C4 Dana 44.
The early Dana 44s were used until about 1987.
And, the late Dana 44s were used from 1988 and up.
The internals of both are pretty much the same (with some minor differences), but the housings are different and I think the pinion seal where the driveshaft connects is different along with the camber bracket bolt hole sizes.
If it is a Dana 44 and has 3.07 gears in it, you can almost bet it is an early Dana 44.
The Dana 36 has "slingers" covering the seals for the side bearings (where the half-shaft connects).
None of the Dana 44s (early or late) have the "slingers" over these side seals -- you can look directly at the seals in the side.
I believe the rear diff in this picture is the early Dana 44 and the front one is the late Dana 44:

Tom the 2 diffs in my photo are both later models, the bottom unit is a DANA 44 from an 89 with a 3.33:1 ratio, and the top is a DANA 36 from a 1994 with a 2.59:1.
The diff pictured in the first post is not from a C4. As Etown Brawler states, its a late C3 diff.
