Default Please help, knocking

I just picked this car up 2 days ago for a steal, but it has knocking, i know its not from the bottom end, cuz it still has all power, and no hesitation. im thinking that its coming from either the air pump or somewhere in that area, anyone have any similiar issues? All input appreciated. Its a 1984 with the crossfire.

get your hands on a stethoscope, youll find the knocking real quick.

If you can't find one you can use a wooden dowel rod. one end in your ear and one end on the component/part

Or pull the belt off and run it briefly to eliminate all the accessories. Bearing knock won't necessarily hurt the power, before it blows, but if your ESC is working properly, knocking from any source should retard the timing and kill power.

RACE ON!!!

If the knock sensor is working correctly, it would be pulling the timing out [retarding] and the power should be down not up or ok.

You may also want to check that the knock sensor is connected or working if the motor is running fine under hard excell. Just a suggestion... Good luck and post results.
