Default Strange electrical problem.

Was on the way out yesterday and my wife mentions she hears a clicking from the Vette. I walk over and hear the convertible top cover latches engaging like the release button was being pressed. On looking at it we saw that the right latch would trip and then the left about 5 seconds later. About 5 seconds after that the cycle would repeat. The length of time between the latches going off wasn't always consistent but was mostly around 5 seconds. We were in a hurry to get to get somewhere so I just disconnected the battery and left.

I did a search for electrical problems and didn't see anything like this one. Any ideas?

Thanks

If you had heavy rain lately, someone who also owned a vert. posted a while back that water had gotten into the solenoid/actuator which cause a clicking noise like you described.

Didn't say how he removed the water but you could use compressed air to blow it out or use a hair dryer if that's your problem.

When I connected the battery this morning the problem was gone. Yes we did have some heavy rain a few days ago. I will keep this in mind for next time. Thanks!
