Default Injector install

What do you guys use to lube the o-rings on the injectors before install? just oil?
Also is it normal for the lower half the injector ( below o-ring in intake) to appear carboned and wet?
Should I try to clean the injector holes in my intake or use some seafoam afterwards?
Thanks
Oh and I used the directions on the removal- top notch
Although I used a rachet wrench with my 1/4 torx

I just use oil, but grease would work. That's normal wear for the injectors, and it try to clean it out before putting the injectors in, but any soil will just be sucked into the cylinder when you start it, and it shouldn't cause any problem.

I just used some oil, as for the injectors being carboned, the ones on my car were clean, I would think about getting them serviced by Rich at Cruzin Performance.

Gook luck

I used Marvel Mystery Oil. It was recomended by another forum member. It's cheap and easy to find.

That's what I used Used a Q-tip soaked in it to clean the injector holes also.

The above two posts were right on the mark. Use q-tips to clean the area and use some marvel mystery oil. It will help the injectors go in and seat easier, giving you a better fit.

Thanks The q tiups and marvel oil did the trick! Fired the pump up and had about a 10 psi drop in about 63 minutes! Can't wait to fire it up

I think any type of petroleum lubricant would work to lubricant the tight fit of the "O" ring to the mating holes. If you do not lubrinant the O rings, the surface of the ring may be damaged and you will not have a proper seal. However, I would not use a lubricant with silicone content due to potential oxygen sensor problems.

I haven't done my injectors yet, but whenever I put an o-ring in anything, I use some stuff called Parker O-Lube:

http://www.parker.com/o-ring/Products/Lubes.htm

It is available here:

http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalo...arkerolube.php

It is absolutely not necessary, any of the previous suggestions will work fine. I bought a tube of the stuff for around $10 and I have a life time supply for me and all my friends..............
