New Project Close to Completion
Some people say that CF Members have no life beyond the forum? I beg to differ. I have not been on here as much as I have in past years due to a hectic work schedule and other projects sucking away my time.
Spring project start:

And a little something for the garage (think assymetric lift, two more air conditioned bays, full bath, and upstairs entertainment room):

See, I have been busy.

I subcontracted all of the work myself to save a bit of money. What I could do myself (plumbing, electrical, grading, and some rock work), I did myself. I will be doing the garage myself, which starts this week.
As for the wife, it is all give and take. She wanted a wet room for the pool, so I went ahead and added the slab for that while I was doing concrete work around the ppol. But it turned out to be 34'W x 26'D. My thought is that this will be a great entertainment area upstairs with the pool, and then a place for my son when he comes home from college (yuntil he gets out on his own).
I typically do a lot of work myself (just like with the cars). You can't see the large estate double gates which I welded myself with the brick walls. And the covered patio (35'W x 17'D) you see in the pics was a project in '06.

Is the slide concrete or did you put some kind of coating on it to make it more slippery?
Any time people build a bigger garage its always cool to hear about, even if it has cats in it currently

Actually, most major homeowner insurance companies will not insure a home if you add the diving board. My insurance was one of those, and I checked around. But... they are not concerned with a slide, so that is where I went.
The slide has a coating that is close to liquid plexiglass. You roll it on, and it is a very hard surface polymer that will not erode over time. It is laid over a the gunite (blown concrete) shell. I used 600 grit sandpaper between each coat of material. It has a polymer brown and tan flake that melts as the chemical reaction occurs in the methyl methacrylate, with 5 layers of just clear MMA over the top surface. It has 8 tiny holes at the top that put water down the surface. Imagine plexiglass at a slope with water sheeting down. It is FAST!
I now have a large pile of boards on the slab, and the start of one of the walls. I am trying to take Wed-Fri off to get a major start on the garage extension while my wife and kids are away. We will see.
If I make major progress, I will post pics.
BTW, one of the vettes is going in the hole (where the lift will be located). Possibly on the lift? One vette will remain in the 3rd bay up front, and that still leaves at least a complete bay open for work.
