Ok, in other post I've read comments about 6th gear not being able to tolerate high loads (says at 150mph shifting into 6th). So don't use 6th gear to accelerate hard. I didn't want to steal the thread, so I didn't ask.
Something about the 6th gear syncro is shared with reverse so the high loading will "burn it up" due to heat.

Okay.
I won't.
Sam, you ever actually tried to accelerate hard in sixth gear??
I believe that is another old wives' tale.
Like the one that says you have to open the hood and the doors in order to raise the C4 on a lift.
Once you are in sixth, the syncro is on lunch break. Even so, I usually have to downshift into fifth in order to accelerate, so I don't think this is an issue for most ZF6 owners.
If you tried to actually accelerate in sixth gear, it would take so long that the engine oil temp would rise to dangerous levels before the gearbox would be threatened.
