I am on the fence about doing anything with my vette. I don't want to do anything that can't be undone. I will be putting an exhaust system (http://www.melroseheaders.com/produc...ystems/c-4.php)
but beside that i want to stay stock. My major question is there a way of adding HP with out other mod's or doing damage to the engine. Can you suggest a kit and brand?

Thanks, I hope I don't look like to much of a newbie

PS I don't want to mod the suspension or trans either. I think the ZF 6 speed had a max of 450-475 ish

That exhaust looks nice, but there doesn't seem to be any mufflers with it in the picture. Also, make sure that you don't have any type of emissions checking in your area, you won't pass with that system.

What do you mean about a kit? Are you talking about nitrous, supercharger, turbo charger? You can do any of them without engine damage if you do them in moderation. Too much of a good thing can kill an engine.

Why don't you see how the exhaust works for you and then if you are looking for more then we can talk.

And by the way, your ZF6 will handle more hp than you will be able to throw at it, but you may have to upgrade the clutch. I think I was around 500hp before my stock clutch went, but I didn't have all that much low end torque.

I have mufflers that will fit with this system, and I will be keeping stock so ill switch if nessary, but why the system has cat's and all the factory sensors?

Are long tubes illegal?

I live I MA with emission checks every two years.

Also I have been looking at N2O supercharger and turbo kits. It looks like turbos cut or move some peices so that is out. N20 looks like the best choose, just a question of where to put the switchs... thinking about the cup holder? vortech and procharger look fine but i am unsure of intercooler?

Any way if anyone can share some persons experence or if there is something i missed; i would appreciete the input

What is your goal with the car? It's easier for us to suggest things when we know your goal. From what I can figure out, your goal is more power, no suspension or tranny mods, and something that can be put back to stock at any time. How much power are you looking for? Do you just want to drive the car on the street? Autocross? Drag Racing?

I have the Melrose system on my car and it is sweet though the car is not running at this time because of all the other mods I have been doing. They are great guys and the quality is top notch! You will want to talk to Chris over there and tell them Force Fed sent ya.

1638 with shipping for that Melrose exhaust including shipping and 100% street legal. Prices change depending on what you want, and where you are shipping
