Default A/C blower on '96 vert

It blows good and hard. Problem is that it blows in all directions no matter where you want the air to go. The other functions work fine on the control panel. I'm assuming it's vacuum switched. Maybe a leaking or disconnected vacuum line. Don't know where to start looking. Help appreciated.

Seems like I have heard of problems with '96 ventilation systems. I did a search and found nothing, but I am sure there have been several posts on this.

Hopefully someone can point you in the right direction.

From what I recall, the problem was a little different than yours though. Like only the top vents worked, no matter what the setting.

Had something to do with the use of rubber instead of metal fittings on something in the system. The rubber ones collapse, and mess things up. Retrofitting older parts fixes the problem.

I think they are under the dash somewhere. Sit tight. Someone knows!

Good luck!

The air blowing around my legs doesn't bother me, but the air coming out of the defrost vents causes the windshield to sweat. You end up running the windshield wipers on a bright sunny day. I was hoping this would be a common problem and someone would have a simple fix. Guess I can cover the defrost vents 'till I can figger something out.

Run a search. Someone just posted this same issue last week.

check the Programmer. It is located under the dash (on the firewall) on the driver's side near the brake pedal. The box is about 3"x5" with a vacum connection harness. Check to make sure it is connected. You can search some of the previous posts for additional information.
