Default Blower fan problem

Blower fan on my 85 will not work. Thought fan was probably bad, replaced and still does the same thing. I have power to the fan through the red and black wire, (approx 11.5 volts) but fan will not blow. Ran Jumper wire directly over to battery and fan started to blow. I cant figure it out. Any Ideas???

Do you have manual or automatic levers to control the heat-a/c?

If it has power then it doesn't have a ground. Check connector. Ground runs to the frame below it.

I had the same problem with my corvette -87 and it was a bad fan relay. The relay is located next to the blower fan, follow the wires.
I fixed my relay by readjusting the contact blades and filed away the oxidize with a small file. The best thing is to replace the relay.

To test the relay and blower fan, turn on ignition and max fan speed. The relay should energize. Use a small screwdriver to short the two switch blades which is closed and the fan should work.

Good luck!
