Ok guys, opinions needed. I've got flowmasters on my car now and I love the sound but it resonates like crazy any time I press the gas at less than 2000 rpms. Most of the time I can get around this, but I like to cruise on the interstate in 6th, this puts me at around 1400 rpms, just a little loud. (don't tell me 4.10 gears, I know this is an option but I just can't afford it at the time)
Anyway I have a set of long tube headers on the way and in the process I am probably going to get an x-pipe in place of my center resonator at the same time. For those of you who have headers and nothing else, what does it do to your resonace? Those of you who have an x-pipe, what does it do to your resonance, those of you who have both, what does it do.
I would love to hear from somebody who has hooker long tubes, an x-pipe and flowmasters, what are the chances?
Nathan,
I don't have headers. I have muffler elims, I had resonance. Added 4.09's still have resonance, added x-pipe, still have resonance (a little higher pitch).
Have long tubes, Xpipe, no resonator and Power Effects. The car has a nice rumble to it on the highway. Put the noise deadening material in the back rear cargo area which did cut the noise in half. Also have the 4.09 gears. Still some resonance but not that bad.
I have a B&b triflow X pipe in the basement. Keep me in mind if you go that way. It has about 3hrs of Dyno use and 2hrs street use. I couldn't
tolerate the noise.
